Rentalcars Connect has been named as supplier to HolidayExtras.com following a strategic review.
The new long-term partnership replaces a two-year agreement with Flexible Autos, which proved the business case for car hire as a new core product in Holiday Extras’ expanding range of offerings, according to the add-ons company.
Holiday Extras now has access to the full Rentalcars Connect portfolio, including both Rentalcars.com and Rideways, the group’s global airport transfers, taxis and executive cars service.
The reciprocal agreement also sees consumer brand Rentalcars.com offering its customers access to Holiday Extras’ range of airport parking and airport lounges.
The Holiday Extras direct business moved to the Rentalcars Connect white label last month, with API integration following over the coming months for intermediary and retail partners.
Holiday Extras group deputy CEO Simon Hagger said: “We are very excited about this opportunity. It’s the latest milestone in our rapid product development roadmap that has seen the successful launch of airport transfers, attraction tickets and foreign exchange over the past 12 months.
“During the two years that we have offered car hire, demand has exceeded our expectations – with growth of over 50% year on year.
“Rentalcars Connect impressed us with their focus on great tech, high quality and market leading pricing and we look forward to making the car hire booking process even easier and more transparent for our customers now and in the future.”
Rentalcars Connect managing director Fraser Ellacott added: “This is a unique and complementary partnership that is a significant step forward for both companies.
“We are both committed to putting the customer first; testing, learning and being ambitious when it comes to growth within our markets.
“We are creating an opportunity through this partnership to offer our customers both the products and services they want in a seamless, integrated experience.”
