A new survey from online retailer AO.com suggests that more than one in ten UK holidaymakers have been stopped at airport security because of a misplaced piece of technology.

The survey asked UK holidaymakers about their habits when it came to taking tech abroad, and revealed wait times at airports are being extended further because of “careless packing”.

As well as finding that 11.4% of travellers have been stopped at airports, it found that more than a quarter (28.7%) of UK holidaymakers think it would be OK to take a TASER in their hand luggage onto a plane.

Results also found that 27.8% have forgotten to put a device on airplane mode during a flight and that 21.7% of 16-24-year-olds have damaged an electronic device whilse abroad

The survey results were released alongside AO’s new interactive guide for holidaymakers, called Sun. Sea. Tech. Easy!
