Former Expedia director of global customer experience Stuart Newman has joined dnata Travel as chief operating officer.

Newman joined this month and reports into Paul Gale, vice-president of operations for dnata Travel, who is based in Dubai. Neman is based in the UK.

The role was described as a back office function with responsibilities for services, call centres and Customer Relationship Management (CRM).

Prior to being global customer experience at Expedia, Newman was director of eCommerce – emerging markets at the global OTA giant.

He joined Expedia in 2009 having held a number of senior positions at computer hardware manufacturer Dell.
