The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) has launched its first ever online training programme.

Free to travel agents, it is intended to educate the travel trade about what the Arab country can offer to tourists.

The authority plans to develop a team of accredited travel trade experts to sell Bahrain to the UK market.

The programme has modules featuring different aspects of Bahrain’s tourism, from culture and lifestyle to islands and water sports. It will also cover the kingdom’s festivals, events and accommodation and give agents ten top selling tips. Each module will end with a test, carried out online.

Agents can also download information and tips, such as a restaurant app and list of accommodation options, from apartments to five star luxury.
