StarCite Inc, a US-based technology provider for the corporate events industry, has launched a meeting planning web centre where conference organisers can come together virtually to research venues, post reviews and exchange ideas.

The new product, dubbed StarCite TV, includes hotel listings, rich media property videos, and meeting planning blogs.

The site will eventually include travel 2.0 features such as hotel property ratings (based on meeting planner experience) and mapping mash-ups of local restaurants and entertainment options, as well as market trends, an instant group booking capability, and meeting planner surveys.

“We are committed to bringing travel 2.0 technology to the meeting planning world,” said Michael Boult, StarCite’s president and chief executive, commenting on the launch of StarCite TV.

StarCite TV is currently in beta test. The company counts several private equity investors, including NASDAQ-listed Internet Capital Group, TPG Growth, Norwest Venture Partners and TL Ventures.
