Marine Travel has signed an agreement to extend its use of Travelport’s travel commerce platform.

The marine travel specialist, which operates out of an office in Kent and an office in Manila, caters for individual travellers as well as larger maritime organisations.

As part of the agreement, Marine Travel will adopt point of sale solution Travelport Smartpoint as their agency desktop to search beyond rate and availability with the intention of booking travel and increasing revenues.

Smartpoint provides agents access to travel content from more than 400 airlines, including branded fares and ancillaries from network and low cost carriers – as well as more than 650,000 hotel properties as well as car hire and rail options.

Dave Thomspon, managing director at Marine Travel, said: “’We are delighted to sign a new agreement with Travelport – they have consistently demonstrated through our negotiations that they are flexible and responsive to our needs and we believe they will provide us with the strongest travel booking platform and technology to power our future growth plans over the next three years.”

Paul Broughton, regional managing director, UK and Ireland at Travelport, added: “Our team is looking forward to closely working with Marine Travel to help them achieve their business goals over the coming years. It is testament to our innovative technology and world of travel choice that travel leaders like Marine Travel continually choose us as their technology partner.  We’re delighted to be announcing this new agreement today.”
