European online hotel booking site Elvoline.com has claimed a threefold rise in room nights booked last year.

The firm achieved more than 200,000 bookings in 2016, up from 50,000 the previous year.

Elvoline features more than 22,500 destinations worldwide in 195 countries and more than 225,000 hotels.

The company has been part of Docler Holding since 2014, a group founded by the Hungarian entrepreneur Gyorgy Gattyan.

It operates from Luxembourg, where the management as well as the development and sales teams are located.

Founder and chief executive, Karoly Papp, said: “We are proud with our recent increase and this years’ growing success.
