EDreams Odigeo has acquired the Barcelona-based hotel booking site budgetplaces.com.

In an announcement eDream Odigeo said the acquisition will give the company and its travel brands access to innovative technology and will improve product diversification in line with the company’s business strategy

The acquisition follows the disposal of eDreams Odigeo’s corporate travel business in Germany, Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Denmark.

Budgetplaces.com was founded in 2003 and sells centrally located accommodation to global travellers.

It records more than 210,000 online reservations a year and processes 50,000 room nights every month.

The company, founded in 2003, works with 7,500 directly contracted hotels, hostels, bed & breakfasts and apartments worldwide.
