Low cost carrier Ryanair’s mobile app has been rated the best airline app in Europe, based on customer feedback.

The recently revamped app recorded a 70% increase in visits in December and now has more than 17 million downloads on iOS and Android.

It has an average rating of 4.5/5 overall: 4.6 out of 5 on iOs and 4.3 out of 5 on Android. In Ireland, it has a 5/5 feedback score.

Ryanair said more customers than ever are now booking via mobile.

The app features the ‘My Ryanair’ customer log-in function, allows users to check flight information, save travel documents, choose and book fares and sears, book hotels and car hire and check-in. It is available in eight languages.

Ryanair’s chief marketing officer Kenny Jacobs said: “We are continually improving our mobile app and we’re pleased to see customers are enjoying our upgrades and exciting new features.

“Visits from the app increased by 70% over the holiday period as we continued to see traffic from non-desktop devices outnumber desktop visits, which is why we are developing each new digital feature with a mobile-first outlook.”
