Online hotel sales platform RentalsCombined.net has partnered with hotel cloud platform SiteMinder.

The firms say the deal will help hotels and serviced apartments beat off competition from the growing shared economy sector.

Both companies’ customers can share the same platform to promote their self-catered units, which can include hotel suites, condo-hotels and apart-hotels and “capitalise on the growing global trend towards rental accommodation”.

SiteMinder has more than 23,000 hotel customers in more than 160 countries across six continents.

“The rental accommodation market is booming, and hotels and serviced apartments with self-catering units are keen to highlight their unique offerings in this sector and compete against the growing competition they face,” said Nico Nicholas, chief executive of RentalsCombined.net.

“Our platform, together with our many partnerships with blue-chip travel management companies, provides SiteMinder’s customers with an alternative channel to promote these rentals. Moreover, it offers guests peace of mind by guaranteeing the same high-quality service they expect to receive from hotels, including financial protection and instant booking confirmation.”

SiteMinder’s managing director for the Americas, Fig Cakar, added: “Demand for the rental market is fast-growing and the addition of RentalsCombined.net to SiteMinder’s expansive network of distribution partners has enhanced the global reach our mutual customers can now achieve through this alternative channel.”
