Delta Air Lines frequent flyer scheme members will be able to earn miles when booking Airbnb accommodation under a new deal with the home share site.

The arrangement for SkyMiles members comes as Delta becomes the largest US carrier to partner with Airbnb.

Airbnb has also signed Delta as one of its preferred airline suppliers to transport its staff travelling on company business.

The benefits offered via a dedicated delta.com/airbnb website include:

• One mile per dollar spent on qualifying stays
• Up to 1,000 bonus miles and a $25 Airbnb coupon code towards a qualifying first stay for new Airbnb guests
• Up to 25,000 bonus miles for new Airbnb hosts
