Expedia has insisted it maintains a healthy relationship with hoteliers despite the reluctance of some hotels to work with online agencies.


Expedia partner services group president Paul Brown said Expedia works with most of the major chains and brings critical weekend business to hotels. He said he respected the best-rate guarantees which hotels offer through their own websites.


“Suppliers have to determine when it is right to use third parties and when it is right to use direct channels,” Brown told Travolution.


“We live in a world where people shop in different ways. Our business is valuable to hoteliers. And the best-rate guarantee brings integrity.”
