TTE 2016: Vibe Software poised for record year as it starts prospecting for new business
Vibe Software will see a record half a billion pounds worth of transactions on its travel technology systems this financial year, having taken on a series of new clients.
The technology firm, founded by P&P Associates and operated separately to the travel group parent of wefly and weholiday, has recently launched new sites for The Guardian and Qatar Airways.
A long-standing partnership with Asda has ended after eight years due to the supermarket deciding to focus on its core grocery business, but despite that Vibe has picked up new business.
Co-founder and director Martin Eade said after growing via word of mouth and recommendations to date, Vibe was now starting to proactively seek new business.
Vibe recently recruited Lynne Good as sales manager to grow business. Good has previously worked at bmi, Online Travel Training and South Quay Travel.
Eade said: “What we did not want was to bring someone in from a competitor with a traditional sales background.
“We wanted someone who can think outside the box. Lynne is a solutions person who understands how systems work and what our customers need.”
Eade added as well as generating new business Good will also account manage existing clients to find out what additional technologies they need.
He said bespoke development is what Vibe is best at, although it operates a community platform in which all of its clients get access to the same updates and new features.
“Everything we have done so far has been on a referral basis, we have not had to go out and get business.
“Vibe has been treated like a start-up within P&P and it’s been growing and growing. Our customers love the fact that we get how travel works,” Eade said.
Vibe has seen success attracting business from airlines and airports and now works with Emirates, as well as Qatar, along with Gatwick Airport and the Manchester Airports Group.
The firm also develops systems for corporate travel and call centres for retail agents, operators and suppliers.
One of its biggest agents is online tour operator and high street agency chain Omega Travel which operates stores in Milton Keynes, Manchester, London, Birmingham and Edinburgh.
