Hotel representation company Resort Marketing International is partnering travel technology firm Intuitive to develop a web-based central reservation system and management tool.

The service, known as Serenity and unveiled this week at the Travel Technology Show in London, is the first piece of kit produced by the join venture, known as Intuitive Resort Technology Systems.

RMI’s strategy director Paula Whitehead said: “Serenity was born out of our frustration with existing products on the market.

“We couldn’t find a central reservation system that met our needs so we decided to build our own. We’re delighted with the results and very excited to be a part of IRTS because it offers the sector a new experience in hotel software.”

Intuitive director Arthur Moulding, who with business partner Paul Nixon has worked on travel projects for the likes of MyTravel and Virgin Holidays, said the first project could be a target for major hotel chains or small independent operators.

“This is a unique venture. Our combined knowledge, experience and passion have helped us to create a system that simplifies the complexities of hotel and resort management,” he added.
