Travelport has renewed a deal with Iraqi technology company Rawat-Al Hajer.

Travelport has renewed a deal with Iraqi technology company Rawat-Al Hajer.

The company sells Travelport’s products and services to travel agencies in the war-torn country.

The companies have worked together for the past four years.

In 2013 the team opened an office in Erbil to complement its presence in Baghdad.

Rabih Saab, Travelport’s president and managing director in Africa, the Middle East and South Asia, said Iraq was a key marketplace for Travelport and that the new deal reinforced its commitment to the country and its agents.

“We have enjoyed a very successful partnership with Rawat-Al Hajer over the past four years and its commitment to outstanding service in delivering our technology and services to the local travel agent community makes them a key partner in the region and an excellent representative of Travelport.”

Aws Al Hashimi, managing director of Rawat-Al Hajer, said: “Our vision is to provide customers with the best solutions in technology and services across aviation, hospitality and tourism.

“We look forward to continuing our work with Travelport, and continuing to provide cutting edge solutions to travel agencies.”
