Thomson has gained top spot in a report on the strongest performing brands using social media.
Fending off cross-industry competition from multi-national brands, the Tui Travel brand was top for delivering excellent levels of engagement with its fans on Facebook.
The findings by social media analysis company Socialbakers outlined how the operator had minimised response times for answering customer posts. It also took top marks for the quantity of posts addressed.
Thomson averaged a time of 170 minutes in responding to its 411,000 fans and answered over 1,453 posts in the second quarter of the year, the report found.
The Thomson social media team had also responded to 96.96% of all enquiries.
The Socially Devoted brand report by Socialbakers acknowledges the best performing brands in the world of social media each quarter.
Sister company First Choice came seventh in the report.
