Marriott International is to start using tablet devices to present digital restaurant menus initially at new Ritz-Carlton hotels in China.

The chain is to work with UK hospitality guest services developer iRiS Software Systems to develop the technology.

The iRiS food and beverage software allows restaurants to turn menus into digital format and present them on iOS and Android tablets for diners.

Marriott vice president of IR Martin Bookallil said: “Mobility in our hotels is one of our key priorities. iRiS Software Systems will provide us with practical software tools that enable our guest-facing operation to present and engage with our guests in fresh new ways.”

We are very excited to work with the iRiS team on several new opening hotel projects this year to bring these products and processes to life, starting with our Ritz-Carlton properties.”
