People hoping to score dream jobs including a park ranger position in Queensland have less than a week left to submit a 30-second video application.

Applications and videos are being invited via australia.com/bestjobs or through facebook.com/AustralianWorkingHoliday.

More than 500,000 expressions of interest have been submitted by nearly 300,000 people from 196 countries for the six jobs available as part of Tourism Australia’s ‘Best Jobs in the World’ competition.

More than 91,000 have registered to apply for the role of park ranger in Queensland. The closing date for video entries is April 10.

Queensland Tourism international director UK, Ireland and Nordic Jane Nicholson said: “The Queensland position has attracted the second highest number of video entries with more than 2,000 already submitted.

“The response to the competition has been incredible and there has been a huge amount of interest in the Queensland job.

“Brits, Italians and Americans have proved most keen for a shot at the Queensland park ranger position.

“Potential candidates are warned not to leave it too late to upload their video entry.”

She added: “The successful candidate will work alongside experienced guides and tourism operators to showcase Queensland’s best natural assets to the world through blogging and social media.

“The Best Jobs in the World campaign will offer one lucky person the opportunity to take a six-month gap getaway, be paid in Australian dollars, and as a park ranger in Queensland, experience our natural beauty at its best.

Tourism Australia managing director Andrew McEvoy said would-be applicants should not be deterred by the number of people who have already expressed interest in the jobs.
