Students from Southampton Solent University have helped the city’s airport launch its YouTube channel including a spoof Christmas message from staff.

Three videos for the new channel have been made by Solent Creatives, the university’s creative agency.

The team was given a brief to create videos to show the new security screening process and to illustrate the range of worldwide destinations flown to from Southampton as well as the special festive message.

Jan Halliday, director of marketing & communications at Southampton Airport said: “We have been thoroughly impressed by the professionalism of the students involved in this project from the initial creative ideas, through to their conduct during the filming in the airport and by the production quality.

“It’s been great working with them, and we’re glad to have been able to help them develop their skills and add real projects to their portfolios.”

Matt Weet, Solent Creatives co-ordinator, added: “This project is a fantastic example of Solent University’s continued development in linking businesses with students in the creative industries.

“We are incredibly proud of the videos the team have produced. They highlight the quality of work, enthusiasm and creativity that our students possess.”
