International travel technology giant Sabre Travel Network has signed up as the headline sponsor of this year’s Travolution Summit where it will showcase its business to business app store.

Senior vice-president for EMEA Harald Eisenaecher will join a debate on the emergence of the new travel marketplace and how big data, mobile and social media is reshaping the sector.

Joining him in that debate will be Christoph Klenner, European Technology & Travel Services Association (ETTSA) secretary general, Mark Lenahan, vice-president product strategy at OpenJaw and Brannon Winn, chief commercial officer of Vayant Travel Technologies.

Ahead of that session Eisenaecher will introduce the opening address giving an economic overview, this year presented by BBC finance reporter and former host of Working Lunch, Adam Shaw.

Throughout the day delegates at the annual Summit, this year taking place at The Grange St Paul’s Hotel in London, will be able to experience the Sabre Red App Centre for themselves.

Around six or seven of the latest apps to be made available on the platform will be demonstrated by Sabre.

The Sabre Red app store went live in March this year and to date around 80 developers have applied to become certified.

The centre offers 220,000 travel agents a way to seamlessly integrate third party and Sabre-developed apps into their agency workspace.

Eisenaecher said: “These are extremely exciting times in the travel technology space. The pace of change is faster than ever.

“The advent of big data and the prevalence of social media and mobile technology are all contributing to the evolution of how travel is bought and sold. The Travolution Summit is, therefore, an important platform for the industry to debate and share ideas on our collective future.”

Lee Hayhurst, Travolution editor, said: “This year’s Summit is jam-packed with sessions that will give delegates valuable information and data on vital aspects of the travel technology sector.

“We’re delighted Sabre has come on board to help us kick off the day with two sessions that will take a broad overview of the market before we get into some more subject-specific presentations.

“Inevitably we’ll be looking at social, mobile and localisation or personalisation during the day and plan to offer some of the latest insight into these key areas.

“Many of the presentations will be backed up by new pieces of research, white papers or reports that will be made available exclusively to delegates who attend on the day.

“And having Sabre come along with their app store will give delegates an opportunity for some hands on experience of some of the latest and most innovative applications in travel.”

Spaces are still available for the summit for £199 which includes lunch and refreshments as well as admission. Go to www.travolutionsummit.com to grab your place.
