Travel technology company Comtec has taken another step in its push to internationalise the business by signing a deal with a French tour operator.

The deal with Lyon-based Tourinter, comes just a month after the Welsh company inked a major partnership with Vacation.com in the US – the first of what Comtec said will be a major programme of expansion over the next two years.

The Tourinter deal will see Comtec provide its Travelink sales and management tool into the operator’s systems.

Comtec has overhauled the Travelink package in order to introduce a French language version.

Comtec product director Ed Whiting said: “We believe travel organisations across Europe, North America and beyond are seeking the same business benefits that Comtec products and services deliver to hundreds of UK travel agents and tour operators today.

The company has named the North American, French and Australian markets as those it will be targeting during the current expansion phase.

“To grow our business, we’re therefore looking at new markets where we feel the proposition that has lead to Comtec becoming the UK’s leading leisure travel technology can be applied in order to enable overseas travel companies to achieve competitive advantage.”
