Google brings Street View concept to hotel interiors

Google is launching an enhancement to its Places listings that will showcase the interior of hotels and other businesses in the style of Google Street View

Google is launching an enhancement to its Places listings that will showcase the interior of hotels and other businesses in the style of Google Street View.

The new service, called Business Photos, is being launched in the U.S., Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

In a statement on its website, Google said: “Interior photographs are a great way to show potential customers what your business is really like. By enhancing your Place page, business photos will help your business stand out above the competition and get discovered on Google.”

To take advantage of the new service, businesses need to book a free shoot with a Google photographer. Photos will then be uploaded to the company’s Google Places page, allowing users to view 360 degree images.

Currently Google is focusing on hotels, restaurants, retail shops and other storefront businesses.

Google is encouraging businesses worldwide to apply for a photo shoot, saying it will determine where to send its photographers next by the number of applications per location.
