Amadeus launches new XML car hire technology

Amadeus has announced the roll out of a new online car rental booking system based on the GDS’s Cars Plus XML technology.

Amadeus has announced the roll out of a new online car rental booking system based on the GDS’s Cars Plus XML technology.

The system patches into Amadeus Web Services to increase the functionality for online retailers including map display, a matrix view and point of reference searches.

The online XML upgrade is in addition to the Cars Plus system already available to agents using the Amadeus Selling Platform. It has gone live with launch partner hotel consolidator Transhotel

Javier Sancho, Transhotel’s contracting and product director, said: “We were able to implement exciting functionalities and easily customise the booking flow so that it fits transparently with our own look and feel.

“The Amadeus XML technology also integrates perfectly with our existing IT infrastructure including back office, payment solution and mark-up functionality.

“After testing the new product in the Spanish market, the application will be available for all the travel agents that work with Transhotel worldwide”.
