Traditional UK cruise operator has Swan Hellenic has developed its first podcast to support the launch of its new 2011 summer brochure.

The digital broadcasts feature a commentary on some of the departures in the programme by Paul Carter, cruise director on its only ship Minerva. They are available now at www.swanhellenic.com/podcasts.

The operator said the podcasts presents Carter’s “expert insights, highlighting elements of the cruise that cannot be found within the brochure and provide a personal narrative to really bring each cruise to life”.

Although it is not the first time podcasts have been used in the cruise industry, Swan Hellenic claims these are the first launched to augment the information available in a brochure.

The Swan Hellenic brand was taken back into private ownership from Carnival Corporation in 2007 by former P&O Cruises chairman Lord Sterling.

It was bought by All Leisure Group and reunited with its former ship Minerva, which was much loved by its traditional cruise clientele.
