TravelTainment snaps up marketing specialist Pixell

TravelTainment, the leisure travel arm of Amadeus, has bought online marketing specialist Pixell.

Pixell’s Travel Suite technology offers automated updating of banner, adword and contextual advertising campaigns as well as social networks like Twitter and on mobile devices.

It won the innovation award at the recent Travel Technology Europe show in London in 2009.

TravelTainment said the Pixell technology will complement its own via all its marketing channels including display, direct and affiliate marketing, SEO and SEM.

Pixell, which has worked with TravelTainment for a number of year, will continue to be run as a stand alone interest.

Andy Owen-Jones, chief executive of TravelTainment, said he was excited with about the prospect of close collaboration with Pixell’s team of 20 experts.

“Pixell’s know-how makes it possible for us to offer even better products for online marketing and the acquisition of new customers on the internet in future.

“These services are essential for our portal customers and are becoming increasingly important when competing for online customers.”

Ulrich Klostermann and Ralf Siewert, the founders and directors of Pixell, said the agreement will be beneficial for both its German and international customers.
