Leading travel comparison website, travelsupermarket.com has appointed Duncan Barraclough to the role of head of commercial.
Barraclough currently looks after the site’s hotels channel and will continue to perform this role alongside his new responsibilities.
Heading up the commercial team, Duncan has been tasked with driving profitability across all channels, while also ensuring the customer remains the focus of everything the website does.
Barraclough said: “The website has taken a significant step forward in recent weeks with the re-launch. I’m looking forward to developing the opportunities the new look now opens up to us, including the introduction of a series of new, innovative travel products.”
He joined the travelsupermarket.com team in April 2008, and has over 12 years’ experience in the travel sector.
He jumped from becoming a Lawyer to pursuing an avid interest in travel, spending 5 years with a direct sell Ski specialist and then heading up the Hotels team within a division of MyTravel. His management roles have included hotel acquisition and integration, marketing, e-commerce and online development.
Barraclough was co-founder of the LateRooms partner programme where, as partnerships manager, he was involved in developing new ideas and technology to increase hotels’ exposure online.
