The launch of a new cruise website by Midlands Co-op Travel’s Holidays-Direct division is having a significant impact on sales figures only months after going live.

Since the launch of www.cruises–direct.co.uk in December, Holidays Direct has reported a 94 per cent growth in bookings compared to the same period last year.

The new website is the latest to join the extensive portfolio of websites operated under the Holidays-Direct brand and demonstrates Midlands Co-op Travel’s continued strategic focus on cruise in order to capitalise on the predicted future growth of the sector.

The website provides a comprehensive guide to cruising with access to over 30 cruise operators and up-to-date prices, including exclusive deals and offers, all backed by a dedicated customer service line operated by a team of accredited cruise consultants.

The option to book online will be introduced imminently and increasingly sophisticated booking choices, giving a unique tailor-made approach, are planned for the future.

Neil Smillie, head of Holidays-Direct at Midlands Co-op Travel, explained: “Our vision for the new website is to offer holiday-makers the most comprehensive range of cruises at competitive prices.

“Even though we have only recently launched, we are already working on a number of initiatives which will give our site increased competitive edge when it comes to booking cruise trips.”
