Online travel and leisure retailer lastminute.com has signed a deal with AEG Europe to become an official partner of The O2.
The partnership will allow the two companies the opportunity to work closely together to offer customers the best in entertainment and accommodation.
With the deal, which was brought on by Media agency OMD’s branded content division Fuse, lastminute.com becomes an official partner of The O2 and will now offer tickets for all the world-class events in the arena, as well as tickets to all the other entertainment the venue has to offer, including the recently opened British Music Experience.
The online retailer also becomes The O2’s official hotel booking partner. Customers planning to visit London to see a show will now be able to book hotel nights on The O2 website.
The site will link to a The O2 page on the lastminute.com hotel booking platform and will offer The O2’s customers from around the world the opportunity to book hotels from the international network of lastminute.com sites.
Lastminute.com lifestyle sales director Mark Bower commented: “The O2 offers some of the best entertainment in the world in one of the most exciting venues and we are thrilled to be offering such quality to our customers. This is a perfect association of two leading brands thriving to give the best to the public.”
Andy Washington, travel sales director, added: “ By offering The O2’s customers the opportunity to book their hotels on the website we are easing the whole process of sorting out an overnight stay in London. Now customers will be able to book top entertainment tickets alongside great value for money accommodation both on the same site. “
Paul Samuels, executive director for AEG Sponsorship, said: “Lastminute.com are a perfect partner for The O2 and we’re thrilled they’ve come on board.
