Utell Hotels & Resorts has reported a 21% revenue increase to hotels on its consumer site, hotelbook.com, from January to August this year.

Average stays booked on the site have been 2.8 days while average booked rates have increased by £8 year-on-year.

More than half of UK travellers on the site booked domestic trips to cities including London, Birmingham and Manchester while 74% of US travellers booked domestic destinations.

Utell is ploughing ahead with its enhancements of the site including a new homepage, microsites for its cities, search engine optimisation and increased affiliate marketing activity, despite the current economic climate.

The site also features travel guides, podcasts and a blog.

Hotelbook features more than 6,000 independent and small group hotels across 2,000 cities.
