UK travel start-up Love Home Swap and bought Dutch rival HomeForExchange in a mutli-million pound deal.

Further acquisitions could also be on the radar for the firm that says it plans to become the Airbnb for holiday rentals.

The deal for HomeForExchange, Love Home Swap’s largest rival opens access to 100,000 properties globally for the Wyndham Worldwide backed venture.

Founder Debbie Wosskow told The Telegraph that there are between five and 10 other brands that have niches in certain geographies that love Home Swap could buy.

“2016 will be a very interesting year for us,” she told the newspaper.

Love Home Swap and HomeForExchange will continue to be run as separate businesses under Wosskow as chief executive.

Wosskow is also the chairman of the sharing economy’s trade body SEUK.

HomeForExchange is a 25-year-old business with 20,000 subscribers.
