Expedia.co.uk is to employ dynamic packaging technology enabling consumers to compare traditional package holidays and components using one system.
Traveltainment is providing its Datamix system, which will bring together a blended set of results of package holidays and holiday components.
It is believed that up until to now Expedia has been using its own internal technology for the dynamic packaging element of the holidays while Traveltainment has been providing the package holiday element for the past 11 months.
The new system is expected to be employed by March this year.
Expedia declined to comment but Colin McKee, UK sales director of Amadeus-owned Traveltainment, said the technology would mean access to more holiday content for the online agency’s customers.
McKee also said Traveltainment was poised to go live with a similar deal with another large online agency in April.
