Kayak unveils visual and interactive Travel Hacker tool

Travel search engine Kayak.co.uk has launched a new interactive tool.

Travel search engine Kayak.co.uk has launched a new interactive tool.

The Summer Travel Hacker Guide visualises data-driven insights through graphs and ‘hacks’, to help inform people’s travel choices this summer.

Kayak’s travel data scientists and travel experts worked on the tool, analysing the site’s search queries to feed information into its features.

The features include the top 10 most popular summer destinations, the top 10 summer deals, the top 10 trending beach destinations, the top 10 trending city break destinations and global booking tips – the tool works out how far in advance travellers should book and the cheapest day to depart and return on.

For each destination, the guide offers median airfare costs across the summer months, trending hotels and ‘hacker tips’ so it’s quick and easy to see the best value places to visit and best time to go.

Loella Pehrsson, regional director of UK, Ireland and Nordics, said: “As a brand, Kayak has always been committed to providing travellers with the most up to date insight so that they can make more informed choices and save money when travelling.

“With the launch of the Tracker Hacker guide we have created a tool that brings this huge wealth of data in a format where it can be accessed by consumers at their fingertips.

“We know that consumers want so much more from their holidays than they did five years ago, and as a result, we will search around for the best deals on offer.

“Our technology-led tools will enable them to get the most out of their summer holiday choices”.
