Rentalcars.com has been voted one of the best places to work in the country.

The business recruited more than 500 people this year and has 290 vacancies to fill in 2018.

The Manchester-based company was placed 16th in rankings based on anonymous ratings and feedback by employees.

Rentalcars.com was just one of three businesses in the north-west to be ranked in the Glassdoor top 50 table, which included global brands such as Google, Facebook and Microsoft.

Using its review data, Glassdoor ranks companies with a rating out of five.

Companies had to have a minimum of 30 reviews and employ more than 1,000 staff.

Eighty six per cent of employees at Rentalcars.com would refer the company to their friends and the business has a chief executive rating of 96%.

Chief executive Ian Brown said: “We’re delighted that our employees see us as an exciting and rewarding place to work.

“That said, we still have 15 places to climb. Our goal remains to be the best tech company to work at in the UK.”
