Online travel agent TravelUp Group has appointed former ebookers.com director of air Katharine Dunwoodie to develop its relations with airline partners.

Dunwoodie has spent 15 years at eBookers.com, six as director of air, which became part of the Expedia group as part of the buyout of parent Orbitz.

TravelUp says Dunwoodie joins the Aldermaston-based firm at a time of “substantial growth” in passenger numbers backed by the development of its airline partnerships.

Dunwoodie said: “I am excited to be joining the great team at TravelUp Group and be a part of the development of the various brands within the group.

“My focus will be to develop strategic opportunities with our key airline partners and support the business with the development of numerous tools and systems that will provide a seamless customer experience, enabling the business to grow even further.”

Ali Shah, TravelUp Group chief executive, added: “We are very fortunate to have a strong aviation team in place and the addition of Katharine to this team can only cement our position.

The TravelUp Group has gone from strength to strength and we now have established a multi skilled senior management team. The appointment of Katharine is a sign of our commitment to being the leading agent in the industry. I am confident Katharine will help us achieve that goal.”

TravelUp owns a number of brands including Bookable Holidays, Holiday Genie, Bravo Travel and Magic Holidays. It specialises in short and long-haul leisure travel.
