IHG mobile revenue increases 400%
Intercontinental Hotels has revealed that mobile revenue has increased by 400% since 2012.
Mobile represented 70% of digital revenue growth so far this year.
App revenue was up by 57% so far this year, representing 86% of mobile revenue growth, with more than 1.3 million downloads – a rise of 15% year-on-year.
Bookings via app have risen by 22% a year, according to online data released to analysts as part of a commercial strategy presentation.
Mobile gross revenue has surpassed $1 billion against $213 million in the same period in 2012 and $552 million in 2014.
The group sends out 800 million emails a year in 15 different languages with 400 different promotional offers.
IHG operates 11 call centres in seven countries, driving $1.5 billion in revenue this year.
The hotel giant plans to start the introduction of its new guest reservation system, being developed with Amadeus, from 2017.
