Marketing strategy in travel is probably one of the most hotly debated topics because trends move so fast and there is never a lack of experts willing to provide an opinion.

This year’s Travolution Summit, which marks 10 years since the launch of the Travel Weekly Group brand, has lined up two expert speakers who are guaranteed to provide invaluable insight and advice on crucial aspects of today’s digital marketing scene.

Highly acclaimed industry leader and speaker Nishma Robb, of Google, returns as a speaker at the Summit bringing with her two decades of background in the travel sector.

As customer marketing lead for Google, YouTube and DoubleClick, she will share her views on how the future of the travel industry is closely connected to the entertainment industry and why producing quality content to inspire and delight has never been more vital.

Robb’s numerous accolades during her career including an Asian Women of Achievement’s Asian Business Woman of the year, being picked out as ‘the one to watch’ in a Media Week Top 30 Executives under 30 list, and being included as one of Travolution’s Powerful People in Travel.

Continuing the entertainment theme, the Summit will next hear from Unruly, the innovative video ad technology company bought by the parent of The Sun and The Times, News UK, for £58 million in 2015.

Unruly’s managing director, global clients, Dan Best will explain how creating great video content is just the start of the process of exploiting data and insight to get it in front of as many eyeballs as possible and achieve that marketing Nirvana of making it ‘go viral’.

Unruly’s founder Sarah Wood was named the Veuve Clicquot businesswoman of the year in 2016 and the company now operates in 15 countries, employs 200 staff, half of which are women.

Lee Hayhurst, Travolution editor, said: “Our two fantastic speakers on marketing as this Summit are at the absolute cutting edge of what is essential for all brand to achieve cut through to customers in the increasingly busy online environment.

“Content has never been more important in digital marketing and yet the travel sector is often accused of failing in one aspect it ought to excel in given the nature of the product it sells. Come along the Summit and you might find out why, and how your company can ensure it stands out from the crowd.

These two sessions are brought to the Summit by sponsor Feefo, the global authenticated review platform used by many travel firms today like Expedia, Travelzoo and On The Beach to promote their service and product and optimise their digital reputation.

Following the presentations Ve Interactive will give a short presentation on the latest developments in programmatic marketing, an area of growing importance that it is driving efficiency, automation, and personalisation in online campaigns.

And following that there will be a panel debate to allow delegates to discuss what they’ve just heard with the speakers.

The afternoon’s workshops will also pick up on the marketing theme with two providers; Cloud IQ and Melt Content offering detailed insight, tips and advice on conversion rate optimisation and exploiting content to boost web presence respectively.
