Hotel firms are failing to seize on the opportunity that video presents online, according to Irish five-star operator Killarney Hotels.

The company has produced an infographic on hotel technology trends compiling some of the latest research and data on the hospitality sector.

It provides a snapshot of how the hotel industry is evolving with the advances in technology and where it needs to look to for the future.

One of the key findings is that Facebook is bar far the most intensively used social media channel but only one in three hotels post videos on Facebook.

It is claimed that video will become the single most important format online and will account for 80% of internet traffic by 2019.
