Move follows easier navigation between firm’s smartphone apps

Google is extending its travel planning tools from mobile devices to desktops.

The move follows the simplification of trip planning by making navigation between Google flights, hotels and trips easier on smartphones.

Trips, including reservations for things like hotels and restaurants, will also be accessible in Google Maps in the next fee months, Richard Holden, travel product management vice president revealed.

He said: “As you plan a trip, your research and reservations will be organised for you in Trips.

“As we continue to evolve Google Trips, we’re making this information more accessible at google.com/travel, and in Google Search and Google Maps.

“We’re also adding a few new features to make planning and organising your trips easier.”

Weather for upcoming or potential trips will be available.
