Three of the top five most downloaded travel apps are from China, according to latest research from intelligence firm App Annie.
The top 10 chart of the world’s most downloaded apps in the travel category, sees cab hailing giant Uber take number one spot while Google Earth was second.
But Chinese apps Did Chuxing, the ride-sharing app, OTA Ctrip and metasearch engine Qunar Travel take the next three places.
The US just about pips China with six of the top 10 places with Uber and Google Earth joined by booking.com, TripAdvisor, Yelp and Airbnb.
App Annie looked only at downloads on the dominant iOS App Store mobile platform from July 2010 to June 2018 inclusive.
