The App allows customers to book car parking, lounge access and fast track security, with all of their bookings saved in one place, receive real-time flight updates and alerts, book flights to more than 80 direct destinations and access pre-travel information and advice.

It also pushes exclusive offers and discounts for catering outlets and shops in the airport and enables passengers to check the weather in their destination.

This first phase launch comes as Newcastle International, which has recently invested millions in transforming its international arrivals hall, has committed to ensuring technology is at the heart of its future development.

Graeme Mason, planning and corporate affairs director at Newcastle International Airport, said: “We’re delighted to unveil our brand new app today.

“At Newcastle Airport, we pride ourselves on offering an award-winning customer experience and we’re working hard on ensuring we can further enhance our passengers’ journeys through the use of technology and the latest innovations.

“The first phase of this app is really all about helping our passengers to fully prepare for their flights, with bookings, flight and travel information housed in one place and real-time updates and alerts sent directly to their phones.

“Moving forward, we are already working on the second phase of the app and are looking at ways in which we can ensure the app grows, incorporating more features and services that will further enhance the passenger experience for the five million plus people who travel through Your Airport every year.”
