Segal is also chairman of HostelWorld and Encore Tickets and a former chief executive of Odeon Cinemas

Lee Ginsburg, a senior independent director for three years and a former chief financial officer of Domino’s Pizza, will succeed Segal as chairman of the board.

David Kelly, a non-executive director since 2015 and a previous chief operating officer at lastminute.com, will take over Ginsburg’s role as senior independent director.

Chartered accountant Elaine O’Donnell, a non-executive director of a number of companies including Games Workshop Group, is joining On the Beach in a non-executive role.

Chief executive Simon Cooper said: “I am delighted to welcome Elaine O’Donnell to the board of On the Beach.

“Her wealth of experience across a range of businesses and M&A expertise will be of enormous benefit to the group as we execute on our strategic objectives and continue to grow the business.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Richard Segal for his valuable contribution to On the Beach during his five year tenure, during which time the group has undergone significant growth and development as both a private and listed business.

“The board expresses its deep gratitude for his outstanding guidance and contribution during that time and wishes him well in the future.”
