Spain ‘best value’ destination in OTA’s research

Spain has emerged as the best value destination when comparing the length of its beaches, sun hours and average water temperature versus the cost of a holiday during the summer.

Research by On the Beach revealed Lloret De Mar on the Costa Brava as the best value destination, enjoying more than 58 hours of sun a week, 48 kilometres of beach and an average water temperature of 23 degrees.

Benidorm on the Costa Blanca offers the second-best value for money in terms of sun versus the cost of a holiday.

The resort offers 72 hours of sun each week, 57 kilometres of beach and an average water temperature of 23 degrees.

Offering more beach than any other resort, Torremolinos is in third place with almost 80 kilometres of beach, 77 hours of sun and an average water temperature of 22 degrees.

Santa Ponsa in Majorca enjoys more than 70 hours of sun a week, while Crete, Halkidiki and Rhodes all provide excellent value for money for those seeking, sun, sea and a swim.

The Canary island of Gran Canaria and Cyprus complete the top ten.
