The executive chairman of music recognition app Shazam has been recruited to the board of UK theme parks firm Merlin Entertainments.

Andrew Fisher is joining as a non-executive director from July 1, bringing particular expertise in digital and technology markets.

He has led the successful growth of a number of technology-focussed enterprises over 20 years.

Fisher also holds non-executive positions at Marks and Spencer, MoneySupermarket Group and AI Future Tech.

Merlin Entertainments chairman Sir John Sunderland said: “Andrew brings with him a wealth of experience in digital consumer and technology markets which will prove invaluable as Merlin increasingly focuses resources and efforts in this area.”
