A mobile app to support safe travel for tourists in Malaysia has been introduced by the country’s tourist board.

My Tourist Assist is a government service under Tourism Malaysia.

Key features of the app include a ‘UrSafe’ tab with SOS button for sending alerts in the event of emergency, enabling security services to be immediately alerted.

The app also lists various essential services such as police stations, hospitals, pharmacies, ATMs, embassies, train stations and petrol pumps.

The app has been developed by digital technology services company UST Global, following a similar initiative in India.

UST Global ASEAN director George John said: “We are confident that the app will be of great use to the millions of tourists visiting the country and will help make Malaysia a safer place to travel to.”
