Travel technology provider Intuitive has completed supplier connections with Avis and Amadeus Hotels to take its total number to 250.

The Croydon-based firm, which supplies the iVector reservation system to the trade, completed its latest API direct supplier connections in the first quarter of 2018.

It said the new suppliers on its platform increases choice for its customers and builds on a decade’s worth of building connectivity within travel by Intuitive.

Paul Nixon, Intuitive managing director, said: “Ten years ago we made architectural decisions about how we integrate suppliers that are still paying dividends today.

“Our integration approach enables us to quickly and effectively connect new suppliers and upgrade existing ones.

“This is critical for our customers that increasingly rely on supplier connectivity to sell and fulfil their travel product.”

Intuitive said it sees supplier connectivity as a “key element” in its strategy to create technological competitive advantage for its customers.

It cites the recent rise of channel managers and destination management companies in the distribution mix and the need for access to real-time rates and availability.

“The travel distribution ecosystem is complex and constantly evolving – upgraded interfaces, new suppliers, new commercial and distribution models,” the firm said.

All supplier connectivity can be accessed by customers using iVector or via a single API, iVectorConnect, for those using their own back office technology.
