Online travel agent Kiwi.com has appointed Marco Van Ieperen as head of airline partnerships.

Van Ieperen joins from Travelport, where he was managing director, Benelux.

In his new position, he will lead Kiwi.com’s airline team, taking responsibility for building relationships with new and existing airline partners, helping expand the team and setting the OTA’s future strategy.

His role will include pushing Kiwi.com’s Interlined.com project, which aims to further enhance the defining feature of the company’s search engine where flight segments without codeshare agreements are pieced together for the benefit of the customer in a process known as ‘virtual interlining’.

Van Ieperen has more than 20 years’ experience in the travel industry and travel technology sector in B2B roles.
