Teletext Holidays introduces Facebook Messenger chatbot

A travel chatbot service via Facebook Messenger is being introduced by Teletext Holidays.

The tool is designed to assist customers in booking holidays by offering the latest trending deals and providing travel inspiration.

The multi-functional chatbot also broadens the reach of the travel service to 1.2 billion Facebook Messenger users.

It comes on the back of research revealing that more than 70% of all smartphone owners make use of instant messenger options such as Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp and Viber on a daily basis instead of downloading individual apps that take up memory space.

Teletext Holidays managing director Wayne Perks said: “Our new travel chatbot service is an exciting part of our commitment to develop the customer experience.

“In a highly competitive market it’s important we adapt our business to meet the evolving demands of our customer base.

“The future of chatbots is incredibly exciting and as a forward-thinking company it is important for us to embrace this technology and use it as part of our offering.”

Head of marketing Kelly Maher added: “Being an early adaptor of the chatbot service, Teletext Holidays is paving the way for advanced technology in travel.

“Teletext Holidays will be able to interact with their customers in a more consistent and organic way at just the click of a button.”

Customers can access the Teletext travel chatbot via the Messenger phone app or through internet browsers at Messenger.com.
