Bedswithease eyes continued growth with more direct contracts, long-haul and cities

Trade-only bed bank Bedswithease will increase its range of hotels in key Mediterranean destinations and expand into long-haul and cities.

The firm, part of the Broadway Travel Group, reported 2017 has seen growth and it expects further expansion in 2018 as it increases the volume of directly contracted properties.

Paul Riches, sales director, told guests at the supplier annual Christmas agent VIP lunch that 2017 had been its best-ever trading year.

“Following our success in 2017, we are now looking for further growth in 2018, with even greater emphasis on our direct contracts.

“We have expanded our buying team, with three new appointments, which will increase our range of hotels in the Balearic Islands, Portugal and the Canary Islands.

“We are also close to finalising a number of new strategic partnerships which will increase our distribution into other key markets, outside of the UK and Ireland.”

For summer 2018 departures, the Greek Islands, Portugal, Turkey and Malta are showing the largest percentage increases on last year.

The company also announced at the lunch it will be expanding into long haul and cities markets in 2018.

“We have been historically weak in these areas and so will be expanding our buying team further, in order to secure direct contracts in key cities and long haul areas”, said Riches.

“We are fully committed to supporting the trade and are now also looking to strengthen the Bedswithease team with two new senior appointments in both sales and yield positions.

“These appointments will help us to achieve our ambitious growth plans over the next two to three years.”

The Christmas lunch was attended by over 60 of its key agents and supported by the Malta National tourist board, A2B Transfers and deals site Holiday Discount Centre.
