The Canary Islands is the most popular winter sun destination for British holidaymakers this year.
Spain dominates the top five list based on bookings at On the Beach, with Tenerife top followed by Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria, The mainland region of Costa Blanca takes fifth spot.
The Portuguese Algarve is in sixth place – and also ranked as the best value destination – while Turkey is the eighth most popular destination and is set for a return as a popular summer hot spot for British holidaymaker next summer.
Hurghada in Egypt is showing the greatest percentage increase in bookings year-on-year.
Agadir in Morocco is the second fastest growing destination this winter followed by Cape Verde,
Malta is named the second-best value winter sun destination for winter 2017-18 followed by the Costa del Sol.
On the Beach chief marketing officer Alistair Daly said: “Spain has always been a popular destination amongst British holidaymakers but it really is dominating this winter sun season.
“Our bookings also show that Hurghada and Agadir are growing in popularity and we expect this trend continue into next year.
“For those looking for a great value holiday, there are some fantastic deals to be had with Spain and the Algarve both offering exceptional value for money.”
He added: “Looking further afield, Dubai is proving very popular amongst sun-seeking British holidaymakers this year, along with the modern and vibrant destination of Tel Aviv, a destination which enjoys a fantastic all-year round climate.”
