Price comparison site icelolly.com has joined forces with disability tour operator Enable Holidays following a spike in demand for fully accessible trips.

Enable Holidays aim to cater for the 16% of working adults in the UK considered to have a disability, by offering more than 500 accessible holidays to more than 50 worldwide destinations.

There are around 770,000 registered disabled children in the UK.

Icelolly.com says disabled travellers spent more than £12.4 billion on accessible tourism across the globe last year.

Enable Holidays claims to be able to guarantee adapted facilities for customers when booking, rather just requesting on-site services ahead of a customers’ arrival.

Andrew Latham, icelolly.com’s chief executive, said: “Holidaymakers have been calling out for better provision of travel options for disabled customers, and we knew it was time to sit up and listen.

“We carefully select our partners and Enable – with its highly-respected credentials in the accessible travel space – seems like a great fit for our brand.

“We know that our customers, who might benefit from these types of holidays, will feel both completely comfortable and well cared for by booking accessible holidays with Enable Holidays through icelolly.com in future.”
